Jermaine Dupri and Curren$y collaborate with T.I. on “Never Fall Off”

Earlier this week, Curren$y and Jermaine Dupri announced plans to release their joint EP, For Motivational Use Only, which comes the week after they released their well-received singles “Essence Fest” and “Never Enough.” Now the Southern rappers have dropped another song, this time called “Never Fall Off,” featuring T.I. and focused on the rappers’ resiliency within hip hop during these hard times.

There is a deeper meaning behind the title of the forthcoming Curren$y album, as Curren$y explained when he spoke to VIBE about it.

“That’s how I believe you will be able to discern what you will hear from what you’re going to hear,” explained the former New Orleans resident. “I believe that if you have never received any form of money before, you will have to obtain money if you have never done so before. Once you flip that money a couple of times, maybe you’ll get a little cash, and then you’ll repeat that process a few more times before you learn how to flip that money again, and then you’ll learn how to flip that money. If you do this, then you will be in a position where you will have to count that money, invest that money wisely, and so on. That’s what it’s about.”

Despite going top 20 in 2001, JD is yet to release an official album in the wake of his 2001 release Instructions, a top 20 release that included appearances by some of the biggest names in music including Pharrell Williams, UGK, Usher, Nate Dogg, Jadakiss, Clipse, and Ludacris, the latter of whom backed up Dupri on his hit single “Welcome To Atlanta.” Since then, the So So Def mogul has continued to produce for LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Ari Lennox, and more. Despite his busy schedule in the recording studio, Curren$y continues to bring the masses quality music with albums like The 8 Ball Jacket, Spring Clean 2, and The Drive in Theatre, Continuance, Part 2 in 2022 alone.
