Earlier this week, Brooklyn rapper J.I. released the menacing and melodious “I Ain’t Gon Lie.” track. In his new EP, the rising New Yorker pairs his trademark flow with an aggressive, yet distinct soundscape. In this video, directed by him and Dreamfilms, we see J.I., with the support of his crew, performing at a barbershop and jewelry store while his lyrics are delivered:
J.I. has released several previous tracks, most notably the R&B anthem, “Taken for Granted” and the honest filled, “Morning.” The last project he released before this was Hood Life Krisis Vol. 3, which featured singles such as “Letter 2 U” and “Excuse My Pain.” Welcome To GStarr Vol. Originally released in July through Geffen Records/G*Starr Ent. with contributions from Lil Durk and Myke Towers. The release included video for cuts such as “Love In The Club” and “20k.”
