Earlier today (Sept. 10) Baby Keem released his long-awaited debut album The Melodic Blue, a 16-track album with appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Don Toliver and Travis Scott the latter of whom delivered a wonderful verse about and “family ties.” and “range brothers” During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Keem debuted a visual for the song “issues,” which contains production by Jahaan Sweet. “issues” examines family, struggles, inner demons, and more through poetic and poetic lyrics:
On first viewing, Jake Schreier’s video for “issues” appears pretty easy to interpret. A helicopter was seen hovering around Keem as he rode his bike in the desert. Eventually Keem ends up in front of a door that doesn’t appear to be attached to anything, and he turns around to go head-on into the helicopter after failing to open that door.
Keem premiered “The Melodic Blue” in 2019 following his successful “DIE FOR MY BITCH” which produced hit singles “MOSHPIT,” “HONEST,” “INVENTED IT,” and “ORANGE SODA,” making him a future artist to keep an eye on. The following year, he joined the ranks of Jack Harlow, Polo G, Latto, Lil Tjay, NLE Choppa, Rod Wave, and Fivio Foreign as a member of XXL’s Freshman class.
