Earlier this year, FKA Twigs released her debut mixtape CAPRISONGS. It contained 17 dope tracks as well as guest features from Shygirl, Pa Salieu, Daniel Caesar, The Weeknd, Rema, and more. The British singer dropped a clip of her latest track, the BKay, El Guincho, and Psymun-produced “darjeeling,” which was originally recorded by Unknown T and Jorja Smith, whose lyrics refer to twigs running through London with a love interest, and is associated with the music industry:
The Aidan Zamiri-directed video does not appear to feature Jorja Smith or Unknown T performing their parts. While this is the case, the minute-and-a-half video is still entertaining in that FKA Twigs and another perform a bartending stunt in an English pub before breaking into some serious dance moves (to no one’s knowledge).
CAPRISONGS’ upbeat vibe and subject matter were discussed by Twigs in a recent interview with Variety:
“My other projects have dealt with very personal things I have been through in my life. I usually write about that. There was, however, a shared loss and sadness because of the pandemic. Considering my background as an artist, it was the first time I had an inclination to create something for others.”
