Earlier this year, Ace Hood unveiled his M.I.N.D. project, which featured 10 introspective tracks as well as a solo feature from Killer Mike. Ace returns with the official visual for his single “At War.” According to a press release, the video was directed by Alex Heider and shows Ace walking through a cathedral as he disseminates some thoughts:
As previously reported, Ace Hood released his fifth studio album Mr. Hood in May, marking his first official release since separating from We The Best (in addition to the recent Body Bag and Trust The Process mixtape series). In addition to the 14 tracks, the project also featured appearances by OZ, Alexdynamix, Jacquees, and Slim Diesel.
According to Ace Hood, he indicated in a former interview that he had no input into the decision to go independent, explaining that the decision had been made without his input:
The fact that I felt as if we had created this thing together is the reason I felt you were close enough to me that I was able to speak with you about it once he had made his decision about Sony Red and that it was happening. That was when the conversation with us actually happened, and I was taken aback by it because I felt out of my depth.”
