During the espnW Summit in New York City this year, its track was first premiered. In its official press release, the event stated that it brought together top leaders and change-makers from the intersection of sports, entertainment, and business for a day focused on the female sports market.” Additionally, a 50th anniversary celebration was held for Title IX, one of the fundamental federal civil rights laws which was signed into law fifty years ago. Laws on sex-based discrimination in federally funded education entities and programs are specifically prohibited.
Her third studio album, Eve, was released three years ago, and it contained 16 songs featuring contributions from other artists Leikeli47, GZA, J. Cole, Elle Varner, D’Angelo, JID, SiR, Queen Latifah, and more. As with “Dust To Diamonds,” every song on it was dedicated to her heroes, and it was widely admired for its fresh and innovative approach. The future is therefore hopeful, as a new body of work will soon emerge.
